I have some Excel templates (xlt) that I've put on the server (running
windows server 2008).
They run fine (opening as xls sheets) from most of the computers in the
office, but from the computers that have "Microsoft Open XML Converter"
installed, they open as templates and any changes saved modify the original
template. And while they are open, no one else can use them.
No matter how many times I tell windows (both vista and xp) to use Excel to
open them, they open with the converter.
How can I get rid of the converter, or make the templates work on all
machines. We have mostly Excel 2003, with a few machines on 2007.
