File converstion

Dave

I have Office XP with Windows XP. I have some files that
were created sometime ago and when I try to open them I
get a file conversion window..."select the encoding that
makes your document readable". Nothing works to convert
it. I think these files were created with an Office 2000
program. When I go to properties it says they are a 'WDB
file' trying to open in Microsoft word. My program will
not convert.

Can any one help me??????????????????????????

..wdb is a Microsoft Works database file. You might be able to import it
into Excel or Access, but not into Word.

Hi Dave,

A .WDB file (Works database) can be used with MS Word
as a mergefile source but only if it contains no calculated/result
fields (i.e. plain typed in text only).

There isn't a converter available for those files other than
to open it in MS Works and save it out as a .DBF or other database
file that can be read by Excel or other programs.
