File Search

MS Word 2003. XP system

I have a several hundred word files saved over the years.

How do I find a specific word document in a list of several hundred
files and multiple folders.
Say I have a specific unique word or phrase from the document
in hard copy but need to find the original typed version.

What I have tried: Click folder to open list of folders and documents.
Use the Tools selection and then the search option.
I have tried both the "and" & "or" choices but neither seem to
work.
Property = contents
Condition = includes
Value = specific word or phrase (no quotes used)
Search in = my documents
Results should be: = usually Word (have tried anything)

Most common result is "no results found"
Sometimes a file is found but very often not the right one.

Manual searches (hours) usually result in the document being found
but I know there has to be an easier way.

I have searched MVP sites etc looking for a solution with no luck.
Any assistance very much appreciated.
Thanks
Randall

Try downloading Google Desktop Search. That'll find it.
