Files "Tool" Missing

Sean

I'm experiencing a REALLY weird error with one of my Groove
workspaces. On my desktop, the workspace has files, calendar, and
discussion sections. The same workspace on my laptop is missing the
files section. I have tried deleting the workspace from my laptop and
then re-downloading the workspace from both my desktop and another
employee with no change. Could this be a problem with cached data
remaining after deleting the workspace to re-download? Guidance to
resolve or troubleshoot the problem would be much appreciated. Thanks
in advance!

Hi Sean,

Because you are using two Groove devices you can do the following.

Save your Groove Account File (*.grv)
You can do that in your launchbar and then select in the top bar File and
than select "Use Account on another Computer"

Then do the following

- Exit Groove completely (rightclick the systray icon and click "Exit")
- Make sure there are no Groove processes running (check for GROOVE.EXE
and GrooveMonitor.exe in
the processes tab of Task Manager)
- Open a commandprompt and go to C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office12
- type:
grooveclean.exe -all
- startup Groove and reconfigure your account

This procedure removes *all* your accounts and *all* your workspaces from
the computer you run it on. It's deletes your workspacrs. Your other
computer(s) will not be affected.
You can now reinvite yourself from the working computer and hopefully the
File tool will now work correctly.

See ya

Hi I’m having the same problem. I have done what you have suggested, and
still have the issue, its only on one of the 20+ workspaces? any other
ideas..

If it makes any difference I’m running 2007office ultimate and vista

Thanks in advance

Hi Martin,

We are running the same config so there is nothing wrong with that.
I have seen this before and most luck you will have is to be uninvited to
that workspace and get back invited.

hope that helps.

hope to hear from you.

So I tried the grooveclean.exe -all and the uninvite and reinvite
method and the Files tool reappears for both, and it takes an hour to
sync, but then shows an empty files tool. Any other ideas?
