Find Entry Problem

R

Roberto

I am trying to do a search using the Find Entry Icon in word searching my
database which it is in excel. I am using Word 2003, but I do not get any
results at all. I notice that word will do the search a go thru all the
records without finding the results using taking a while to do this process.

Strange, if I use another computer with Word 2000 everything is fine. Fields
are OK! And my items are found without any problem, I do not even see the #
of records processed. It is instantly.

I really do not understand what the problem is. I placed the same
information in both Word 2000 and 2003 under "Find What" and "In Field" but I
do not get any results in Office 2003.

Any help?

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Um9iZXJ0bw==?=,

A quick test works here, so it's not "broken".

The functionality was changed in Word 2002 because it was broken in Word 2000.
After a successful "Find" you couldn't execute the merge until you performed an
unsuccessful "Find". The fix was wonderful for the UI, but it completely broke
the functionality in VBA. If you didn't tell us you used the built-in dialog
box, I'd be asking you if you used a macro (and maybe forgot you were) in Word
2000?

How about if start Word 2003 in Safe Mode, by holding the CTRL button when it
starts? Can you set up a mail merge in the new document to you usual data source
and use Find Entry successfully?
