folders list

Hi,
If anyone could help me on this topic that would be
great. I need help!! I would like to view files from a
specific folder in
frontpage. I would like to be able to view just the
filename and maybe last modified date if possible. Can
this be done? If so how should i go about
doing this - i have a little experience in asp's. I would
also like the text for the filename
to be a hyperlink linking to the file, if possible.
Please, could someone help me on this topic. I have
posted a message before and i got told to look at the asp
resources on www.websunlimited.com/resources.asp.
However, i could not find anything related/useful from
this site.

Thanks again,
Mark

Contact your host and have them turn on directory browsing for the folder you want to see and then just create a link to the folder

Hi,
Yes, but can this be formatted in some way? I have tried
this and it produces a lot of other spurious data that
doesn't look to good when shown on the screen. I would
prefer to show this data in a table with perhaps just the
list of filenames. Thanks again for yor efforts. I
apprecitae it.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

If you're on a windows server with ASP then the below code is an example.
<body>

<p>List files</p>
<%
dim oFolder
dim oFSO
dim oFiles
dim oFile
set oFSO = server.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
set oFolder = oFSO.GetFolder("c:\inetpub\wwwroot")
for each oFile in oFolder.files
response.write (oFile.Name) & " " & response.write( oFile.DateCreated)
& "<br>"
next
%>

</body>
