font appears smaller when printed

I am working on a newsletter for my organization. When I printed the first
draft, the font (Garamond size 12) looked fine. When I printed the second
draft (not having changed any font or printer settings), the font appears
smaller and more spaced out. I can't figure out why it has doing this. I have
checked and re-checked my font and printer settings, to no avail.

Are you embedding the font? This is what a poster said when Garamond wouldn't
behave:

When I un-embedded the fonts...it worked!
Oh what a relief it is...thanks a bunch.

And then there is this
The character spacing is not uniform when you print a document that uses the
Garamond font in Windows 2000, Windows XP or Windows XP Tablet PC Edition

I tried un-embedding the font and re-printing, but the font still looks oddly
small and spaced out. It's retaining its original line breaks and none of the
text boxes are being cut off or anything, which leads me to believe that the
font (or the entire publication) is being scaled somewhere along the line. I
just can't figure out where. Unfortunately, I don't have the administrative
privileges to adjust the printer settings...

I tried printing it on a different printer, and it comes out fine again. So
the issue must be with the original printer I was using. Thanks for your help
anyway!
