format fill color

Things that were easy to do in my old version of Publisher are driving me crazy in Office 2002.
I used to be able to go to format, fill color, and click on clear. That let me see through all the boxes
as I used graphics & text. I could also "recolor object" from a nice selection of colors. Can anyone tell
me how to do these things in Office 2202?

You must be easily driven crazy. Toddle off to Iraq to help your friends
there.

Format > Fill I think is what you are probably looking for.

Yes, if you came from a logical well designed menu system in Publisher 97 to
Publisher 2002 I can imagine you are having difficulty. Why they
changed/wrecked the excellent menu system Publisher had is anybodies guess.

Try adding the FILL COLOR button to your bar rather than
going through format. The same button offers the color
options from no fill to basic colors to custom.
