Formatting: I'm desperate

I had a document I absolutely needed to type, and I was having problems
with Word. So I typed it in Windows Word Pad. It prints awful. Later, I
got into Word, and opened the document but the margins and word wrap is
all messed up. Is there a way to fix it in Word? Thanks.

You can try opening up your document in WordPad, selecting all the text,
pressing CTRL-C to copy it, opening up Word, click "Edit", "Paste Special",
and select the "Unformatted text" option.

What problems did you have with Word? Does it print
differently than it looks on the screen? In what way are
the margins and word wrap messed up? Have you been
pressing Enter at the end of each line, like with a
typewriter? Do you have this problem with other
documents? The previous answer about pasting unformatted
text might work, but it doesn't address why you are having
the problems in the first place.

Thanks. But I don't see a "Paste Special" option, just Paste. I'm using
Microsoft Word 2000, if that makes a difference.

Paste Special has been in Word forever. If you are not seeing it on the Edit
menu, it may be because you have adaptive menus enabled. Hover the mouse
over the menu and wait, click the arrows at the bottom of the menu to expand
it, or (best) open Tools | Customize and clear the check box for "Menus show
recently used items first."
