Formatting Problems

Hi there
I have the unfortunate task of editing a document that someone else has
created. When the document is saved, it somehow saves the changes to another
document that has automatically been created (as well as the document I am
working on). When trying to email the document to someone, the original
document will not open (within the email), however, if the other document
(the one which was mysteriously created) is attached, it seems to work fine.
This is very frustrating. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this
weird problem for me.
