Formatting status date line

I format the status date line but the formatting does not seem to apply in
all views of the Gantt chart. How do I get to be the same in all views? I
am choosing a line and a color and see it in some views. Does it have
anything to do with custom views?

Spunky,
As far as I know, gridline formatting is specific to a view so
unfortunately, you will need to set it up for each view. Of course, it
is only applicable to views that show Gantt bars.

Hope this helps.

All formatting, including Gantt Chart area, bars, text, Page Setup (Headers,
footers etc), are held in the View.

Because of this there is almost always a need to create new, separate Views
to express various formatting requirements.
It is good housekeeping practice to create new Views and leave the original
Views as they were, as they come from the Global Template, rather than doing
ad-hoc changes to them.
Use the original Views as templates to base the new Views on.
Create the new Views by copying the original one which is closest to what
you want and giving the new View a distinctive name such as "AAA Special
Gantt Chart 1". I use the "AAA.." so I can tell which ones I made and which
ones were the originals and also to make the new ones always appear at the
top of the list.
This same general housekeeping rule applies to Tables, Reports, Filters,
Groups, Calendars etc.
Especially with Tables, it is just too easy to insert and hide columns and
before you know it you have lost the original Table layout and can't
remember how to get back to it.
If you do mush up the originals, get them back from the Global Template with
the Organiser.

I tried that and I see it in a view but when I close and come back it loses
the formatting I gave it. However, it does stay in one view.

Spunky,
In order to retain formatting, the file needs to be saved, not just
closed.
