I would like to use the Outline Code Description in a text field. How does
one get the description and not the outline numbers

Hi Ron,

I don't think you can do that with a formula. But a VBA macro could do that.
Use the CustomFieldValueListGetItem method:
expression .CustomFieldValueListGetItem(FieldID, Item, Index)
