frozen program

I am unable to work on any of my microsoft programs. It is as if the entire
program has been cell protected. I can't type in word or excel. The toolbar
up top is not even highlighted. I have a document that I created and am
unable to copy or even save to another location. Does anyone know what is
going on?

If you have the trial version, it could be that it has time expired..
