Graphics and Photos not displaying on published site

using publisher 2003 to create page, I have a geocities/yahoo free page:

this is what I did: created page, clicked on "publish to web", named
"index" page and saved, uploaded saved file to file manager, view-no graphics

found instructions on yahoo to save as web page and insert url:
file-save as-"save as file type" web page-click save-"connecting to server"-
receive error cannot find the url .....please check your typing

I came here, found a few discussions and instructions that did not fix my
problem so I thought if I gave more detail someone may be able to help.

You also need to upload the supporting index_Files folder. This contains
the other pages of your website, as well as your pictures.

I had forgotten to say I had loaded these files, but individually as that is
all yahoo would let me do. I also loaded the indexlist file just in case,
but still no cigar. I've had a few people tell me between publisher and
yahoo I'm probably doing it the hard way.

I have a friend who creates beautiful websites, she just wants to host my
page for me rather than trying to help me fix it; I'm starting to think I'm
out of my league!
