I would appreciate if some one pointed me to any topics on Groove Data
Bridge scalability for versions 3.1 and 2007.

Thanks,

Hi Sameer -

I've not seen any public discussion of this subject.

'Scalability' is a pretty open ended subject with different meanings for
different people. What are you thinking of - how much data, how many uses,
what level of collaboration work taking place?

Sameer,
do you mean compatibility between 3.1 and 2007
not scalability
if so to my knowledge nothing should change for the user
groove does use diff interfaces for 3.1 and 2007 forms for example but that
should be internal to EDB and not a user concern

re scaling per se once you move to groove server you should be able to
handle in excess of 5-10,000 workspaces and the same number of users /
contacts

also depends on the machine power

Hi Mark / Ashok,

I work for an auditing firm where the workspace data aggregates to hundreds
of terrabytes. We want to be able to create a Groove Data Bridge set up that
only supports a wide user community, but is also able to scale out / load
balance effectively when the traffic is high. This is primary requirement.
Most Groove EDB documents talk about capacity planning, but they don't go
into the depth of architecting a high volume solution.

Thanks,

Sameer

Sameer -

There's some experience within the Groove consulting team but hundred of
terrabytes is going to be unusual.

Contact your Microsoft rep - and ask him to put you in touch with the
Groove Incubation Team who specialize in this kind of thing.

we don't have terrabytes yet, just over 1/2 a gig but it is broken up over
multiple formsand workspaces of about 2--40,000 recs max each. Then we can
use EDB or in our case our VAP tool to aggregate these forms into a backend
that can handle millions of records

j\however if the terrabytes come from Documents then you have a different
issue and EDB can do little to help - groove server can handle thousand of
spaces but each space must peak at about 3 gig or we have seen problems

so some archtectural info of how where these terrabytes are coming from
would help
