HELP- -Can not Install IIS!!!

P

Police Cruiser

I have XP Pro SP2 and FP2002 installed on my machine.
I attempted to add some pages to one of the websites I manage. The page was
added ok to the website on my ISP, when I attempted to publish it to my
machine I received the error there are no FP extensions installed.
I then went to my programs - add new components - and tried to install the
IIS. Install began and then asked me for the SP2 CD which since I used the
autoupdate of Windows I don't have. When the install began it called for
files and showed me copy files from t:\sp2\i386. Then the install could not
find them in the specified directory. Where are they on my HD?

Go to Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs. Select Add/Remove Windows Programs. There
should be an item labeled Internet Information Services. Select it, then click details to
get a list of the IIS components, select what you want, click OK, then Next. You should be
prompted for your XP cd, NOT SP2.
If those were the steps you already did, then my apologies for being redundant, and I'm
outta bullets.

You don't "have" to install the server and extensions on your machine...you
can work with a disc-based web. You lose some testing functionality with a
disc-based web though.

Try pointing the machine to this location:

C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
