Just reinstalled OfficeXP, now when I open a doc or xcel book I get the
following message
"there are no office assistant character files present on the system.
Please run setup in maintenance mode and install at least one
character".
I assume this means going to add remove programs and choosing repair,
but after doing this the error is still present. Doing a reinstall
got the characters back but only until next time I opened a new
file.
I have installed this version of office 2 or 3 times over the
past few years and never saw any sort of error afterrwards. The only
difference this time is we have a server now [as opposed to a
stand alone workstation] and I opted to not install outlook as this
is pushed to workstations from the server when I do
server/connectcomputer.
Not that it should be a issue, but activation hasn't been do yet
[all legal software here].;-)
A fix would be greatly appreciated
