Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel When I type in a word into the little window on the upper right hand corner of the page, and press return, NOTHING HAPPENS.

I can see "Popular Topics" and "Popular Training" to the left but I can't get HELP to answer a simple query.

I don't have time to watch the video's right now - I need my answer NOW.

Are you seeing the topics pane at the left or right side of the Help
window?

If not, what happens when you click the Topics button in the Help window
toolbar?

If that doesn't help, then by any chance, do you have the Help window
positioned all the way to the left or right side of the screen? If
you've repositioned the Help window such that the topics pane is moved
off-screen, Help will still list topics in the pane, but you won't see
them. Clicking the Topics button twice should display the topics pane on
the other side of the Help window.

I had to reduce the size of the page, and only then would the answers appear on the right side.

Microsoft needs to explain these things better -

As OFfice compatibility with Apple OS X Human Interface Guidelines has
increased, MS has increasingly assumed that users will be familiar with
common OS X concepts such as the Drawer (which I mistakenly called a
pane).

For example, there have been a large number of questions in this group
about disappearing toolbars for which the answer was simply clicking the
standard OS X Window Show/hide toolbar control.
