Help Me please on Word 2000

How can i get my normal template to be blank when i get
ready to yype a doc, somehow a doc i typed up is saved to
normal blank page instead of it just being blanl. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the same
document comes up each time i get ready to type a new on,
can someone please help me.
