HELP! Need to locate the outlook contact from an existing harddriv

My laptop just crashed, and now I am trying to retrive my contact from the
hard drive that I took out from the computer, and don't evne know where to
start.

Back in the laptop I used outlook contact as my only address book, and
havn't changed the setting--so the contact files should be still where it is
supposed to be, somewhere within the old C: drive (now it is external
hardrive put in a purchased USB case)

I know next to nothing. What kind of file extension am I looking for?
Amazingly, I was able to transfer the old pst files to my desktop without
help, and able to retrive all of my old e-mails. But I don't know where to
find my contact...

please help; I am really forgetful and all of my friend's contact are inside
there...

Your Contacts folder should be inside one of the PST files you found.

In Outlook, click File>Open>Outlook Data File and browse to one of those
PSTs. Select it and click OK. If it contains your data, you can move it to
your current folder list. If not, close that PST (right-click>Close) and
open the next. Eventually you'll find your data.
