help with images please

Hi

I have 2002 version.

On my site next to a name I want to write the word 'image'

Have an hyperlink from the word 'image' to open a window with the picture in
it of the name.

I can get it to do it but the image is diplayed full page - but I want it to
pop up in a box the size of the image with just the cross in the corner for
the viewer to get rid of it when it has been looked at.

Is this possible to do with this software? if so any help would really be
appreciated.

cheers
Les

Place the word Image where you want it.
Highlight the word with the mouse and then
right click and select Hyperlink, OR click the
Hyperlink icon on the toolbar, and then link to the image.

There are free copy and paste PopUp Window scripts all over the
Internet and there are several sites that will generate the code for you
by just filling out a form and pushing the submit button but no,
FrontPage will not create a PopUp Window OOTB.

Many many people are now using PopUp Window blockers.
Do not use PopUp Windows unless it is really important.

I have the Google toolbar for example installed into my IE
browser and when the blocker blocks a PopUp Window it
changes the cursor to provide visual feedback but I rarely if
ever care to back-page to reload a page that loaded the
PopUp when the page itself loaded just so I could use the
blocker's over-ride for a chance to see what is probably going
to be an advertisement.

If you insist on using PopUp Windows you are advised to
explain on the page what a PopUp is used for and allow
the user to load the PopUp via a click event rather than loading
it when the page loads. This gives the user the choice to go
into over-ride mode if he or she cares to load the PopUp.

For example use link text that says...
"PopUp Window Displays This Product"

In my design work I have also adopted the use of a small icon
that looks like a window. I use the icon as a bullet next to linked
text. I use the alt text attribute to explain that a PopUp Window is
available. For example...

alt="A PopUp Window will display a large image of this product."
