Help with printing thank you cards using Publisher

Here is the short story. I will leave out the details of my printer
jamming... :)

I have blank cards, two per page, the page measures at 5.5in in width and
8.5in in height. Each of the card has a .5in margin on both sides, top and
bottom.

I have followed the instructions here,
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011295761033.aspx , and that
did nothing, the option to print to the page I added to my printer driver is
not in the page setup or in the print options.

Can someone please tell me how you get the program to let me tell it the
size of the paper, the number of times to print one thing on that peice of
paper, and the margins for each card on the sheet of paper. You will be my
hero forever.

Its seems like it should be simple, like, custom paper, enter sizes, tell it
how many prints to put on the paper, press print, mail announcements, ride
off into sunset with new wife.........

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

If you are creating a tent card, in page setup, select folded card, portrait,
width 5.5 height 8.5, the dialogue will be under the preview,"prints two pages
per sheet of paper." Publisher will query about 2 pages, click yes. Insert 2
pages. Page 3 will have your message. Any object you insert on pages 2 or 4 will
automatically be upside down in print preview.

Arrange your margins as you would any publication from the arrange menu.

If you plan to have a side folded card, use the booklet setup, width 5.5 height
8.5. The dialogue will say prints two per sheet.

Thank you for the response.

After reading my post I realize that I should have been clearer in what I
was trying to get out of publisher.

The pages that I have are perforated to be ripped apart after printing.
What I want to do is make one card in publisher and have it print the same
thing twice on the one page that in total is 5.5 X 8.5. Basically I have two
cards that measure 5.5 X 4.25 and I would like to design my card on one page
and have publisher duplicate it for the bottom half of the page. Without the
option to draw this out I do not know how to better describe it verbally,
hopefully the illustration below will help.

I guess it would also make sense to say that I want to create one page and
tell publisher to print it twice. Similar to when I do business cards, I
only make one card and it prints the same identical thing multiple times when
printed on one sheet.

Thanks again for any help you can provide.

What is the product number of your stock? Are the cards arrange on standard
letter size paper?

If not:
You will have to create a custom size in the printer setup first. Type 5.5 width
and 8.5 height. You probably will want to save the custom size. Every printer is
different on handling custom sizes.
In page setup, select custom, landscape, type 4.25 width and 5.5 height. The
dialogue will say prints two copies per sheet, 2 columns of 1.
