It is probably your video driver.
Do this, slide the acceleration down on your adapter, control panel, display folder,
settings tab, advanced button, troubleshoot tab.
If this solves the disappearing pictures go to the manufacturer's web site of your
graphics card and look around for an upgraded driver.

Thanks for your help it worked. Does your suggestion effect games etc or just
publisher. Will try and find a updated driver

Thanks again

You definitely need to update the driver if you are doing games. You want full
acceleration.

Hi Mary
Thanks for all your help have updated drivers but the problem still
persists. It is very strange for it only happens with publisher. Not page
maker or serif applications. Will have to send a query to my graphic card
manufacurer to find out why? My graphics card is a Radeon 9550 agp any
suggestions.

Eltel,

I you find any additionl information on this, I would like to be informed.
I currently have a Radeom Xpress 200M. Pictures will only display if I
disable: DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations as well as cursor and advanced
drawing accelerations.

Have you tried updating to the latest CATALYST drivers from the ATI website
(www.ati.com)?
