How can I copy a selection into a picture?

Hello,

I'd like to copy a selection into a picture.
There is the copyAsPicture method but I'd like the picture in a gif format.
Is there a way?

Hi Roy,

copy the selection.
Insert an object of type bitmap image,
which opens Paint.
Paste the selection, save it as gif.

But I wonder, whether you'll like the result.

Gruessgot Helmut,

Thanks for your suggestion, but as you said, I don't like the result.

That's the limitation of GIF - you would have better results with
alternative file formats, such as jpg. Using SnagIt (which would give you
the opportunity to try just about every graphics format available) jpg at
full size is virtually indistinguishable from the original - but the file
size is of course larger than GIF.

Thanks,

but I was looking for something I can easily automate.

There are also programs that "print" the document into a picture.
