How can I get back all of my emails that were lost in Outlook?

For some reason.....I logged on to my computer one day and all of the emails
that were previously in my Outlook boxes had disappeared. Also, all of my
favorites on Internet Explorer had also disappeared. I'm not sure what
caused this or if I can get my emails back. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Oh, also I had set up Outlook with my hotmail account, and that has also
disappeared. What is happening???????

Hotmail access via Outlook has been discontinued except for paying
customers.

Look for any file with a .pst extension (enable searching hidden/system
folders) and the open it in Outlook using File->Open->Outlook Data File.

Are you sure nobody reinstalled the OS to a new location? System Restore perhaps?
