I would like my gantt chart to simply not display non working time like
weekends instead of just greying it out. similarly if i wanted to do a
timeline of hours, it shows them as 24 hr periods, i would like to only see
the 8 work hours

Dear Microsoft Office Project User,

I understand your question as in the timescale of Gantt Chart view to
include only working days and working hours.

As Jack Dahlgren, it is not possible to have the time-scale to only having
working hours, as Gantt Chart timescale by definition would include all the
days of the year.

Though Microsoft Office Project includes nonworking hours, you can customize
the timescale not to draw the patterned grey for non-working time.
Step 1: Right click the timescale heading of the Gantt Chart view and choose
"Timescale". Timescale dialog box should be displayed.
Step 2: Select "Non-working time" tab and choose "Do not draw" radio button.
Step 3: Click OK. Non-working time would not be patterned in Grey color.

Remember! The above steps can be applied in any time-scale based view of
Microsoft Office Project.

Please let us know if this helps.

Regards
Sai [PMP]
