How can I retrieve my Rules etc? (Outlook 2007)

My old pc has died but I have access to all the data on it (just can't boot
it). I've bought a new pc and installed Outlook 2007, then imported my old
..PST file, however all my rules and junk senders and safe senders are
missing. I've read here that I should have opened the .pst rather than
importing but I've now tried that too and it doesn't work. Any suggestions
please. Shoudl I start again? The old pc was Win XP with Outlook 2007 and
the new one is Vista with Outlook 2007.

Create a new profile in Control panel, mail and add the pst as the default
message store before opening outlook.

Thanks - it worked (eventually!) I made a new user profile then went into
Outlook, so it set up the default mailfile, then I closed Outlook and
replaced it with my old backup and my rules were there! I exported them to
an .RMZ file, then went back into my own account and imported them. Saved me
hours of work - thanks. Though why Outlook doesn't save the file
automatically I can't imagine - it would be really useful.
