How do I change the duration day length in Project 2003

I am a brand new user to Project 2003. When I enter a start and finish date
of the same date, Project states that the duration is 0 days. I think it
should be 1 day. Is there a general setting to change this logic?

Thanks!

Hi,

Input the Start date & set the duration to 1 day, you will have your finish
date on the same day at 5PM.

Go to tool- options- view, change the date format to show the time, e.g "28
January 2008, 08:00". You can see the start & finish time of the same
activity on the same day.

Hop this will help.

LYNNE26,
As a new user, welcome to the "wonderful" world of Project. One of the
most common mistakes new users do with Project is to enter dates
manually. That totally defeats the reason for using Project in the first
place - to calculate a schedule.

Here are some basics. When setting up a new schedule plan, the user
should enter task names (action verb descriptions), the estimated
duration each task is expected to take, and the dependencies
(predecessors), between tasks. Project then takes this data and
calculates a schedule. There obviously is a lot more to it, but at least
that will get you pointed in the right direction.

May I suggest you go to our MVP website at,
http://www.mvps.org/project/links.htm, and click on the link for fellow
MVP, Mike Glen's tutorials.

Project is not an intuitive application like most other Office
applications. It requires proper training and a lot of hands on time to
use it properly and proficiently. But we are here to help.

Good luck.
