how do i change the value of a text upon clicking a command butto

How do I make it so that when a viewer of my website clicks a command button,
it changes the value of a certain text box???

Try this
<form .......>
......
<input type="text" id="no" value="" size="8" />
<input type="button" value="Change"
onclick="this.form['no'].value='New text'" />
......
</form>
Clicking the "Change" button will place "New text" in the text box "no" .
