How do I compress a Project file?

My MS Project files keep growing as I import and export tasks from other
databases. My main one is now at 41Mb and rising and I can't find out why.
There doesn't seem to be any facility to compress the file?

Psychlist,
Well you can always "zip" the file, but that won't help with file
bloating. Go to our MVP website at: http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and take a look at FAQ 43 - File Bloat? Might be corruption.

It you are constantly importing data into Project or doing a lot of
editing, it is very likely the file will acquire bloat. Try the
techniques mentioned in the FAQ and see if that helps. If not, post
again.

Excellent! That's solved it straight away, now down to a very easily managed
1.5Mb.
Thank you John, hopefully there will be a "fix" produced to prevent this
happening in future.

Psychlist,
You're welcome. I don't see the bloating potential changing as long as
the underlying philosophy of Windows operation remains the way it is.
Efficiency is not considered a priority.
