How do I create a table in a form that sums and refreshes itself?

I've tried inserting a table in word but the problem with this is that it
does not refresh every time and the numbers are locked when I lock the form.
I have also tried to create the table in excel, however the cutting and
pasting functions do not work as the formulas do not transfer over into the
form document.

You have to insert form fields from the forms toolbar before you
protect the form. These form fields can be loaded with default values
if required.
