How do I directly return to a task from the resource usage view?

When working on resource allocation issues, I find it frustrating that when I
switch from Gantt Chart to the Resource Usage view and then back to the Gantt
Chart view it always returns me to very top of the task list - rather than to
the task I was previously at in the Gantt Chart.

Is there a setting I can change to prevent this?

Hi

not sure - but why don't you use the resource allocation view (view / more
views / resource allocation) as you have then both the gantt chart &
resource usage on the screen at the same time.
