How do I get my document out of Read Only?

I accedentally put all my folders into the Read Only format and it says that
it's locked and i can't access it. I can't figure out how to unlock it
because everything that has been suggested on the Microsof Office Word
assistance has suggested to use a botton that i can't access.

Hi, spellinglychallenged16too. You probably didn't make your folders
read-only. It's more likely that either you have not activated the Office
software, or you have an expired trial version of Office 2003. What happens
if you start Word and click on Help | Activate Product? If you are already
activated, a dialog box saying so will appear. If you are not activated, the
Activation Wizard will start. If you have an expired trial version, you will
be prompted to enter a valid product key or to purchase a key online.
