I was wondering if i can print just one label, and not a whole sheet in
Publisher 2003? Also is thier a way to specify the position on the sheet?
Thanks in advance

Just to add a further 2c.. IMO, it is easier to create labels in MS Word
using the Avery templates than any other method..

I use Word for things like this. I also use Word for labels if I'm trying
to use a partial sheet (labels in the middle of the page). I can copy my
design from Publisher and pop it into Word. Are there other ways to do
this? Probably, but it's what I'm comfortable doing.

I have to agree with you there. That's the only way I ever did it until
recently. But now I like making pretty labels and I think *that* is easier
in Publisher - once you get your mailing list set up.

(BTW - if you use Alt+0162 on the number keypad you'll get your ¢ symbol.
:) )

This is how I do it with Publisher 2000.

Start with an 8½"x11" work sheet.
Arrange, set the rows, columns and margins to the specs of your label
sheet.
Create your label in the cell of your choice.

Print it.

Pretty labels are NOT preferred by Canada Post or USPS and UPS delivery guys
are way to heathen to appreciate the finer points of a 'Publisher' designed
label.. having said that, I did design a one off wine bottle label for
somebody who was having probs with label design.. even included text on how
I constructed it.. unfortunately, three vintages had come and gone before
the label was ready for production.. sometimes, it is better just to fill
the glass and use a chinagraph pencil to mark the bottles.. a bright
eyeliner will do too..

And now for something completely different (to the tune of "Liberty Bell)..
whoever would have thought that you could have so much fun with the letter
c.. ¢ © c ç c c c.. Sesame Street wasn't wasted on me, for sure..

A question for you?.. do you remember all of the 'alt +' stuff or do you use
"Character map'?

Mike from Canada.. where it is presently -13º (alt+0186) c (regular c)..

I remember most of the Alt numbers, although not as many now as I have
remapped my keyboard to have more special characters available.

Aha! Alt-0186 is not the degree sign, it's the ordinal sign (not really
used in English, but I think it is in Spanish). Alt-0176 is the degree
sign - it tends to be a little bit smaller and more circular; in some fonts
the ordinal indicator also has a line underneath it.
