I have searched high and low and can't find anything that will tell me how to
do this... is it possible... if not then how do I save a ppt. file to cd when
error message says can't save as it is a read-only file. Thanks.

Open My Documents and navigate to the PPT file. Right-click it and choose
Properties. Uncheck "read only."

Huh? Marking a file as "read only" will not stop it being saved to a
CD.

How about telling us what the message is - exactly.

You CAN'T copy a revised file over itself on a CD. And files on CD are
ALWAYS read-only.
