How do I remove the request snyc with protected actuals error box.

I want to remove the sync option error box and warning box from Project
Professional. Does anyone know how to do it?

You receive this error when your organization uses Managed Time Periods with
Project Server 2003 and when you try to enter actuals in the actual
Microsoft Project project plan. You cannot eliminate this error unless your
organization stops using Managed Time Periods. Hope this helps.

Dale,

Thanks for the fast response. I figured that was the reason, but hoped to
get around it.

We want to use the managed periods and I would not mind the snyc boxes,
except that when I sync, Project removes ALL my plan actuals from previous
months! I have imported existing plans and they have no time sheets against
them , so I assume that's why it erases the actuals in the imported plan.

Is there anyway to import an existing plan and keep your actuals when you
sync? Also, I have noticed that if you update to a plan that had
pre-existing actuals and refuse to sync then the update turncates the actual
data in the plan.

Do you have any suggestions?

When you import projects with actuals into a Project Server environment that
uses Managed Time Periods, you must ask your Project Server administrator to
disable this function before importing your projects. After you import each
project, you should publish the project using Collaborate - Publish - All
Information, and then republish the assignments using Collaborate -
Publish - Republish Assignments and check the "Overwrite actual work entered
by resources" option. The republishing of assignments detailed here
"pushes" your past actuals onto each user's timesheet in PWA. After
importing your projects, your Project Server administrator should re-enable
the Managed Time Periods option. Hope this helps.
