how do I replace Outlook Express with Outlook as my email?

I had to re-boot my PC because I had lost access to the internet. By doing
this,
all memory was erased and I have started from square one. At this time, I
have
both Outlook Express and Office Outlook as email. I want to cease my emails
going
to Outlook Express and instead go straight to Office Outlook. How can I do
this?

Assuming OL is setup and running OK, either
1) Stop opening OE, and ensure Internet options show OL as default
2) Set OE not to check for mail
3) Delete OE accounts

Outlook Express is part of Windows and Outlook needs it to operate correctly.
If you use OE occasionally, set the OE accts to Leave Mail on Server. The
mail will still be on the server to download for Outlook.
