how do I show summary tasks in calendar view of project 2003

Sorry, I'm new to project...I'm trying to inlclude the bolded task summary
that I can view in the gantt chart, when in the calendar view. For some
reason when I go to "options" while in the calendar view and try to select
"show summary tasks" in the outline options section, it's not a highlighted
box I can check. I can alter that box in the gantt view, though. Any hints?

Hi Michyusa,
From the calendar view, go to Format>Bar Styles and change the line style
for the summary tasks or Project Summary task from "None" to either a line
style or bar style.

Julie,
thanks for the quick feedback, but that actually wiped out all the bars that
I was viewing and now my calendar view is blank. I have selected "bar" for
every task type in the format menu. I must be doing something very wrong for
none of the tasks to now be visable.

Hi Michelle,

When you choose Format >Bar Styles the top option in the Task Type list on
the left is "All" if you set that option to "None" all the bars disappear.
Is that possibly what has gone awry?

Sadly, no. Even under "all", I have it set to "bar." I'm sure it's something
so simple and in fornt of me, but I just can't figure it out...OMG, just got
it. Under "layout" I had to select "use current sort order" instead of
"attempt to fit as many tasks" and everything magically appeared. So sorry
for the squandered time.
