How do I update a Calendar template for the next year?

I have created a custom template for a 2005 monthly calendar. I need to
update it for 2006 without having to start from scratch.

Publisher, unfortunately, does not have this ability. Using a program like
Microsoft Outlook will allow you to carry over such dates year to year.

In the *current* version of Publisher, you will have to create the new year
manually. The calendars consist of generic tables essentially. They are not
"smart" tables or "smart text boxes".

While you cannot update or move your info from the 2005 calendar to the 2006
calendar, you can change the date range so that your 2005 & 2006 calendar can
be used at the same time and you can update your 2006 calendar without having
to create an entirely new publication. See if this works for you:

Open your current publication.
Go to "Format", then "Calendar Options"
This will pop up a box on the screen with your current calendar publication
settings.
Towards ths bottom on the left side there will be a box that says "Change
Date Range".
Click this box and you can extend your current publication into 2006 by
changing the "End Date".

Hope this helps.
