How do you set up to print address labels in Publisher?

I know that I need to insert placeholders (or field
codes) into Publisher to tell Publisher where to insert
the information from a data source file. My problem is I
do not know HOW to insert those placeholders.

1. What version of Microsoft Publisher and Microsoft Windows are you
running?
2. Are you running the latest service packs for both Windows and Publisher?
3. What is your datasource (file type)
4. How have you layed out your publication?
