how tell who is using file?

How can I tell who is opening an adobe reader file?
Sometimes our company has a program that we can't run if the output adobe
pdf file is open. If we can tell who has the file open, we don't have to go
cubicle to cubicle asking who has it open, we can go straight to their
cubicle.
