How to create links to folders ouside Outlook?

Hi

Is it possible to create links to folders outside Outlook? So far I have
been able to link only files. I have lots of files associated to a contact
so I would like to keep them in folders.

Thanks

No problem when you insert shortcuts to the folder just like the shortcuts
on the desktop.

You can also type the shortcuts. They will look like this then;
<file:///c:\data >

Make sure you remove the last space before the > signs or the link will
become broken when the path to the folder holds spaces (like Program Files)

Thanks for your input

I would be very delighted to learn how exactly you create this shortcut,
because what I have been able to create is a shortcut to desktop. Copying
from there does not work.

Thanks

Once you've creates a desktop shortcut you can drag & drop it into Outlook.
Since lnk-files are considered unsafe and you are not able to open it
without modifying the registry it's better to go for the text option.

To do this;
-Simply type: <file:///
-then cut and past the address to the folder from the address bar in
Explorer
-the close the link by typing: >

Where do you want these shortcuts? If on the Outlook bar, simply drag and
drop the folder there.

If you're trying elsewhere, here's a trick I've used within Windows, when it
appears you can only create a shortcut to a file. Create the shortcut to a
file contained in the folder and then edit the shortcut's properties to
point to just the folder. In other words, "C:\MyStuff\MyWordDoc.doc"
becomes "C:\MyStuff".

"Where do you want these shortcuts?"

I was thinking of something similar like you can create a contact from a
mail. When you do that you have a neat envelope holding the message in your
contact card. I thought that if I could have my links to the folders like
this?

Thanks
