How to insert text into Task Bar

I need to inser my own text (short note) inside the Task Bar. How to? Tried
many ways. No luck.

Do a Format, Bar Styles. Click on the Text Tab. Tell it what field you
want, and where (inside) you want it to appear.

I cannot enter. I receive a error massage. If I choose "Tesxt1" from where
should it pick the actual message?

You can add the Textx field to an existing table, or create a new table
with Textx in it. Enter your info there, and it will appear in the
Gantt Bar.

"The value is not valid in this situation" this appeares with several tries
with different values. I just need to enter 80 x 20' DC in the middle of the
Bar.

Did you try the instructions I sent you? Where are you entering the
information? You can't enter text directly into the Bar Styles dialog
box. You have to tell it you want a Text field there, then enter the
text in the text field as I instructed above.

Sorry, I'm probably being too brief. There should be a pull-down list
in the Bar Styles dialog box, and on that list should be a list of Text
fields, Text1 through Text30, if I remeber right. You can use any of
them. Let's say you select Text1. Click OK and exit.
Next, you to to View, Table, More Tables. This brings up a long list of
tables available in Project, with the currently displayed table
highlighted. Select whatever table you like, or click on "New" to
create a new table to add to the list. For now, let's keep it simple
and say you're going to add Text1 to the Entry (default) table. Click
on "Edit". A table appears, in which each row represents a column in
the Entry Table. The rows will be ID, Indicator, Name, Duration, Start,
Finish, Predeccessor and Resource. You can put the Text1 field anywhere
in the table. There's an "Insert" button above the table, and if you
select any row and click "Insert", it will create a blank row above the
selected row. Then you can click on the pull-down arrow and all the
task-related fields in Project will appear. Select Text1 from this
list. Then click Ok and close out the Table definition dialog box.
Go to the Entry table, and scroll over until the Text1 field appears.
Enter your text there for each task. After you enter the text, it will
appear in the bar on the Gantt.
Let me know if this gets the job done. I'm doing this from memory
because I don't have Project here at this computer.
