How to let people see all their team's projects?

I am trying to set up a permission system for workgroups that lets them see
projects owned by their workgroup.

The Categories options lets me give them access to projects
- Allow users in this category to view all projects they manage.
- Allow users in this category to view all projects in which they are a
team member.
- Allow users in this category to view all projects managed by resources
that they manage
- Allow users in this category to view all projects assigned to resources
that they manage
- Hand-pick individual projects (not a great solution for administrators in
a large organisation).

I have two problems, which would be solved by letting people see projects in
their RBS group. First, an executive is in charge of a work group, and has a
personal assistant resource who needs to see the executive's projects.
Second, I have a workgroup with a team leader who people do not report to
formally - the team members are at the same level in the RBS.

I have one other solution which is to mandate the whole team gets added to
the resource table of every project in that team, and given a task. This is
not very helpful IMHO.

Can anyone offer a suggestion?
