how to put in authors name in the web page

how to put in authors name in the web page that you have made so when they
search who made it it has a authors name and not a n/a.

Do you mean the WHOIS record?? Otherwise you can just type it on any page
you want or make a "about the author" page!

I've seen this used:

<meta name="Author" content="Fred Bloggs - Literate Systems
www.fbloggs.co.uk">

I'm not sure what it does or whether it's any use.
