How to upgrade to Office97

Hi there,

today i reformatted my harddisk for the first time in five years.
There's one problem, i would like to reinstall Office 97 professional, which
is a LEGAL UPGRADE edition. Problem is that i do not have my installation
disks anymore of my previous version since these apparantly belong to the
previous owner of the computer :-(

My question is, can I bypass the upgrade check in some sort of way?

No. And since you never owned the qualifying product, you never had a
license to use the upgrade version of Office 97.

The only way to "bypass" the upgrade check is to purchase the
NON-upgrade version. And then you would have the "LEGAL" right to
install it.
