I am loosing replies after being sent

I am loosing replies after being sent. This is Outlook 2000. Reply E-mails
have been saved in the inbox until recently

Do you mean that they use to be saved in the "Sent Items" box?

The message that you replied to remains in the inbox. The reply is in the
Sent Items folder.
