I can't open Publisher

I recently did some upgrades on some other aplications and now cant open publisher. It just freezes. The next time it says, "Do I want to open it in safe mode?" I do it and it opens but then it freezes as soon as I try to open anything.

Jack, Disable your printer and try again. If this works go to the manufacturer's web
site and look around for an update driver.

you may want to try re-installing.
