Image causes "save changes" alert?

When I close any document containing an image that has its wrapping style set
to anything other than in-line with text, I get a message box asking if I
want to save changes, even though there aren't any changes to save. If the
wrapping style is set to inline with text, this doesn't happen. Does anyone
know why this is? TIA

Hi Chuck,

How was the graphic placed in the document?
Is it linked (paste from a web page or from Insert=>Picture=>From File)
What version of Word?

If you create a new blank document and insert just a graphic do
you still get the same issue?

The problem occurs whether the image is inserted as a copy/paste or using
Insert>Picture>From file. The pictures aren't linked objects. The Wrapping
Style (inline or other) seems to be the determining factor as to whether the
save changes alert shows on close with no changes: if the wrapping style is
inline (ie the image is an InLineShape) then there is no save changes alert;
if the wrap style is anything else (ie the image is a Shape), then the save
changes alert comes up.

Environment is Word 2000 SP3 on Win2000.

Sorry forgot to answer one of your questions: The problem occurs if I insert
a graphic in a new blank document or an existing one (again, depending on the
wrap style). TIA
