Image missing on slide

I have a number of slides with a picture and a caption. I inserted the
images from file. Having saved the presentation, when I re-opened it the
picture area is black.
The file reference shown as it loads is not the same as the location from
where I inserted the image

Hi,

It sounds as though your images are linked? If so, ahs the image location
moved? Else, if they are simply inserted from file (and that is what you do
say), maybe there is either a muck up with your PowerPoint program (Go to
Help, Check for Updates), or maybe a video issue.

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation

Hi Glen, Thanks for your help. Using PP 2003 SP1. The images are Tiff. I am
designing a coffee table book so using PP as a page layout programme. The
images are stored on my C: drive. If I click on the slide I get a file
reference that relates to the origin of the image downloaded to a portable
hard drive G: As these are RAW files and the drive is not connected nothing
happens. I have connected the G: drive but the images still do not appear I
get a completely black space where the image should be. The text on the
slide is OK. Very frustrating, not used to PP. Perhaps my original setup is
not right.
Thanks,
Billmac
